{"id":2713,"date":"2026-09-11T16:08:28","date_gmt":"2026-09-11T16:08:28","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/mailurdu.co.uk\/?p=2713"},"modified":"2026-09-11T16:08:28","modified_gmt":"2026-09-11T16:08:28","slug":"matt-major-life-announcement","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/mailurdu.co.uk\/?p=2713","title":{"rendered":"Matt: Major Life Announcement"},"content":{"rendered":"<figure class=\"wp-block-image size-large\"><img fetchpriority=\"high\" decoding=\"async\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-154724\" height=\"403\" src=\"https:\/\/i0.wp.com\/ma.tt\/files\/2026\/09\/image-1024x683.png?resize=604%2C403&amp;quality=80&amp;ssl=1\" width=\"604\"\/><\/figure>\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">I know everyone has been waiting to hear what\u2019s been going on behind the scenes, so I\u2019m just going to lay it out: <strong>I\u2019ve made an offer to buy Ryan Phelan and Stewart Brand\u2019s houseboat <em>Mirene<\/em>.<\/strong> <\/p>\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">People say \u201cthe two happiest days of a boaters life is when you buy the boat and sell the boat\u201d but <strong>I\u2019m not always the best at following advice<\/strong>, so I\u2019m going all-in on this <a href=\"https:\/\/sfstandard.com\/2025\/11\/08\/stewart-brand-whole-earth-catalog-tugboat\/\">cute little tuggy<\/a>. <\/p>\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Anybody who\u2019s founded a company and had to find good stewards knows that no one will love a thing quite like the original owner, but sometimes you can find the perfect person to carry the torch. I was happy to take on and upgrade John Mayer\u2019s EarthRoamer for about five years.<\/p>\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image size-large\"><img decoding=\"async\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-154725\" height=\"453\" src=\"https:\/\/i0.wp.com\/ma.tt\/files\/2026\/09\/image-1-1024x768.png?resize=604%2C453&amp;quality=80&amp;ssl=1\" width=\"604\"\/><\/figure>\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image size-large\"><img decoding=\"async\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-154726\" height=\"453\" src=\"https:\/\/i0.wp.com\/ma.tt\/files\/2026\/09\/image-2-1024x768.png?resize=604%2C453&amp;quality=80&amp;ssl=1\" width=\"604\"\/><\/figure>\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Then I passed it on to <a href=\"https:\/\/www.dustinyellin.com\/\">Dustin Yellin, trading for some of his art<\/a>. But without a high-maintenance means of conveyance, I\u2019ve felt a hole in my heart and really boxed in and constrained.
